European Union laws Notice for bloggers explained

European Union laws Notice

I have started getting the following European Union law notice on my blogger page since two days.

European Union laws Notice for bloggers
On finding this notice, I did some research on the topic, looked on the subject materials and have reached the following conclusion. This is for all concerned.
There was a European Union (EU) Directive that was adopted by all EU countries in May 2011. The Directive gave individuals rights to refuse the use of cookies that reduce their online privacy.

Now, what are these Cookies?

Cookies are a kind of short-term memory for the web.  They are stored in your browser and enable a site to ‘remember’ little bits of information between pages or visits. Since this is done without the user consent, here comes the objection and the directive.

So what should you do in response to this NOTICE?

If you want viewers from the member countries of European Union to visit and view your site or blog, you are definitely required to do something.
If you are using some cookies designed by you or some third parties cookies or even Google web analytics or Google Adsense, it’s required by you to tell the users that you are using such scripts explicitly.

  • Work out what cookies your site sets in, and what they are used for, with a cookie audit.
  • Tell your visitors how you use cookies.
  • Obtain their consent, such as by using Optanon, and give them some control.
  • Make a declaration on your disclaimer page to this effect.

If you are running a website or if you are a blogger, then following is a better form to apprise your visitors. This will by and large comply with European Union laws Notice for bloggers. You can do the required modifications to it.
